Show Notes

Question: How do you exist in the world without being insanely frustrated that you’re being silenced/controlled? For Instance, I was talking with someone today and she was saying that I seem to be addicted to the fear. I say, no, I’m just literally being dragged down every damn day and not able to escape the shackles these terrible ungodly humans have put on me. (I haven’t told her the depth of my story because i know she won’t believe me) I literally do not know how to keep my faith that all of this is for a reason. How do you stay sane?! I’m going out of my damn mind with loneliness and anger that my life is officially being controlled and can’t get out of others grip.

My Understanding: Between the massive inflation, extreme censorship, unlawful mandates that are taking you God given liberties and rights away, and the brainwashing on the general public, you feel trapped everywhere you go and with every facet of your life. There is barely anyone to talk to because most folks are drinking the whole pitcher of Kool-Aid. You have some friends you can vent to that understand, but that doesn’t help the price of things go down, or the propaganda to stop showing up on every screen across the world. Which means that it falls back completely on you to find some transcendent state, something almost godly that allows you to rise up above the flooding waters of chaos all around us. Which in and of itself, seems a lofty task…

The Cosmic Man Answers: Here’s My Advice

Cutting out the bad influences as much as possible: When you’re settle down at the house, sit down with a pen and paper and make a list of all the things that contribute to this chaos and your stress. Ask yourself how those things can be replaced.

Adding more positive influence: Now make a list of the opposite influences. People and things that bring you more joy, peace, prosperity and motivation.

Grieve the loss: Just as you’ve have seen with some of your interactions with other people, there is not a culture of acceptance where you can not only vent about what’s happening, but ultimately come to terms with it. Which also means we never get to the heart of the problem collectively. So we don’t move forward and these insane issue continue to persist and get worse. So many people are in denial. And this acts as a form of policing for people who aren’t in denial. Those of us who are throwing our hands up and saying “Look! What the hell is going on here?!This isn’t right!” They tell you you’re a doomscroller, or a fearmonger or your in love with the pain or some other nonsense. Unfortunately, we might need to do this part by ourselves. Think of the Garden of Gethsemane story with Christ where he “Weeps for the world.” Either by yourself or with people who understand the way you do, let yourself go, and surrender to have bad things have gotten.

Meditations: With all that being said, understand that it is easy to get stuck in “the sunken place.” It happens to me all the time. The horrors happening before our eyes are mind blowing. We want to keep screaming and talking and calling it out. Though, we must find balance. Once we surrender to what is, we can approach the whole thing from a more relaxed state. Exemplify the stoicism of Marcus Aurelias. I highly recommend his personal journal made into a book titled “Meditations.” Its a master class on how to except the insanity that is the world and many of its humans, and then find constructive ways to contribute to the better world while also safeguarding your peace and well being.

Hold Your Ground: Something that makes us feel hopeless in the sense that the rest of the world is against us and that no matter if we are right, there is a “Might is Right” energy that tries to brute force us into submission. This will also cause many people who might of took a stand, to sit back down. As someone who is bearing witness, we must stand our ground with absolute confidence. We must make these people feel the error in their ways. The simple act of extreme confidence can shake an entire room full of people and cause them to follow you instead of the accepted norm. No one is perfect, we are all getting some of this wrong. So while you are paying close attention to your understanding of this situation, and crafting a better you each day, also be confident in that. You see the objective crimes of lying, cheating, stealing, killing and trespassing. Don’t let anyone brute force you out of standing up against it. And when you do it, do it proudly with a smile. Beam your heartfelt and humble pursuit of righteousness out to the world.

The Warrior: I want you to start meditating on the idea of the warrior, the samurai. See what is happening right now as a battle that YOU WILL WIN alongside your brothers and sisters who are still in the fight. None of this makes sense and it isn’t fair. But neither were the Gulags, the Holodomor or other countless crimes against humanity. We are blessed and cursed to be in these complicated and interesting times. And it is on us to be able to take the momentum of these times and turn it into good, even if the odds are stacked against us. See these problems as turns in a maze, or clues in a puzzle. And you are the cosmic detective, trying to figure out how to make it out the other side of the labyrinth.
