The Dream Journal: A Map to the Soul
The eyes aren’t the windows to the soul; your dreams are. Unfortunately, this key to inner journeying has become a lost art. I don’t remember the last time I heard someone excitedly talking about their dreams, what they thought it meant and how it made them feel. Dreams used to be a powerful part of our lives, helping us to work out our waking problems and engage with an interactable realm of infinite experience, while also giving us important insights into the grand mysteries of reality and mind.
But now it’s a lost art—one I hope to help people recapture. In this article I’m going to provide you with a step-by-step program for reconnecting with your dream world in a meaningful way that will bring countless benefits. Alongside showing you how see the deeper meaning of your dreams, I have also provided a helpful system for recording your findings.
You’ll find several versions of my original journal system, including a photo guide for a DIY written notebook, a PDF fill-in version and an excel spreadsheet (digital) version.

Using the Tools
At the bottom of this section, you’ll find links to all the tools, which include the step-by-step guide for making your physical journal (with pictures) the excel spreadsheet link for download and the PDF/Word Doc version for printing. I recommend opening up the links and looking at the journals as you read this article to gain a better understanding of how they work as you go.
In addition, each journal will have a filled-out version as well as a blank sheet, so you can see an example of the journal in use and have the template to start your own. For the excel spreadsheet, click the “Blank Template” tab at the bottom and download for use.
